SKETCHING AND CHARCOAL
PAUSE GALLERY is looking for sketch artist using pencil and charcoal as their primary mediums with a strong emphasis on raw emotional immediacy.
We areare looking for evidence of the artist’s physical presence as a direct response against the onslaught of AI generated art. Consider the following when submitting a portfolio to PAUSE GALLERY:
Gestural Minimalism: Large-scale drawings where the focus is on a few powerful, sweeping lines. The value comes from the confidence of the stroke and the visible "dust" or smudging that occurs naturally.
The "Unfinished" Aesthetic: Works that leave parts of the paper completely bare or show "correction" marks. This narrative suggests that the process of thinking and drawing is more important than the final image.
